Quartetto Noûs

Sofia Manvati: violin

Alberto Franchin: violin

Sara Dambruoso: viola

Riccardo Baldizzi: cello

The Quartetto Noûs (from the Greek: mind, rationality, inspiration, creativity) has established itself since 2011 as one of the most interesting chamber ensembles of its generation. Having studied with masters such as Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), Heime Müller (Artemis Quartet) and the Quartetto di Cremona, it has combined the Italian tradition with the most influential European schools.

Awarded the Piero Farulli Prize (Premio Abbiati 2015) and the Arthur Rubinstein Una Vita nella Musica Award of Teatro La Fenice, the quartet combines rigor and originality, ranging from the great classical-romantic repertoire to contemporary music, and experimenting with innovative formats.

It has collaborated with artists such as Andrea Lucchesini, Bruno Canino, Alain Meunier, Boris Petrushansky, Alessandro Taverna, Enrico Bronzi, Roberto Plano, and performs regularly for the most prestigious musical institutions in Italy and abroad (Germany, France, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Korea, China).

Its recordings have been released by labels such as Tactus, Da Vinci Edition, Warner Classics, and Brilliant Classics. For the latter, it will complete in 2025 the first Italian recording of the Shostakovich quartets.
